Game Journalism Day 5

Today was my First attempt at completing the challenge Hopeless Survival. The first thing I did is I started heading east Towards Mystery Lake. On my way there after leaving Trappers Lodge I was attacked by a wolf that only managed to sprain my wrist before it ran away. While I was heading west I came to some train Tracks. Which would be my guide to Mystery Lake. At the Train Tracks there was a derailment. I didn't stop to look though I had but one goal to complete the Challenge.

After following the train tracks I came to the camp office. However, I didn't go to it instead I went left. What I found after going left was a Bunker it was similar to the one I found earlier on. Instead of food this one had Weapons such as two rifles and a knife. It also had a lot of ammunition for the rifles.After gathering supplies there I headed out to the Camp Office inside was a Coat, an accelerator, and some food and water. I slept there to wait out the night. Once on mystery lake i hugged the left side of it looking for a river which would take me to the Hydro dam.However my journey was abruptly stopped by another wolf which managed to bring down to low enough health for the cold weather to finish me off.

Today I decided to go fishing in which I had to travel to the east to the area called mysterious lake. You have seven days to complete the challenge Hopeless survival. So in order to find the fishing lake you simply go straight out of the Trappers Lodge and you will arrive at the train tracks. Follow them till you see a house with a Canadian flag hang on top of it in there. There is a work bench to craft what you need to fish. You will need to craft a line, a hook and then the actual fishing line itself.
In order to craft a line you need to harvest an animal for its guts then take it to a work bench and make a line. For a hook you need scrap metal which randomly spawns around the world. Then you make Fishing Tackle from both the line and the hook. Once you have your Fishing tackle proceed to a Ice fishing hut. Once there break open the ice with a hatchet and fish for however many hours you would like.  
I was lucky enough to get all the materials i needed to make the Fishing tackle and before i headed out to the Fishing huts I went bed in the Camping Office and ate the food there.

Game Journalism Day 2

Today in The Long Dark I decided to search around the cabin and continue the challenge Hopeless rescue. In which you must find the Flare Gun and shoot it from the top of the lighthouse. So i went exploring looking for new things on  my first attempt on I came across a secret location. It was an underground bunker somewhere to the west of the trappers lodge. When I went inside of the bunker I found a lot of food supplies such as food, water and wood.

On my way to the underground bunker I found a man's corpse along with a deer's corpse and they were both frozen solid and they were being watched by a lot of crows. After that and decided to head out and look around for anything else. All I found were the howling winds of the winter night then I heard a snarl and turned to look at where it came from there was a wolf. It chased me down and killed me so I restarted.
I re-spawned grabbed everything in the Hunters Lodge and gather all the supplies there and headed out west again this time I didn't find the Bunker which was curious. But I managed to find a few other structures out in the wild. While doing this I constantly was checking my status make sure my character didn't die I was lucky enough to not get snowed on so my character was fairly warm. My one survival tip is Seriously hope you are lucky.

Game Journalism Day 1

So today I started by play the long dark Let me say by no means have I ever Played this game before or watch some else play it I've heard lots about this game so I decided maybe I should dive into the game. So I started off and there's no real guide on what to do First I'm greeted by a very unfriendly world of harsh winter and a daunting task. My challenge was to light the flare on the top of thee light house. So the game starts you off in a Trappers Cabin for this challenge the first thing I did was look around and saw that I was greeted by an abundance of supplies that I had no idea what to do with.

So the first thing I did was collect everything in the house all while learning the controls. So the basic controls are Left Mouse is your way to interact with the world. F opened up your character stats 
which told you if your hungry, cold, thirsty or hurt. Anyways I went out side and found a nice looking world however the graphic weren't the best but they were still nice the game overall ran smoothly. I went outside and I picked up sticks and rocks I placed down my snare outside. Then I got cold from being outside so I started freezing. So i dashed into my house using Shift (Sprint) and then I crouched (Ctrl) and lit my fire place so i wouldn't die of Hypothermia. Other controls I used were right click, I held space to access my interface those were all the controls I used.
